The TRAIT project (Training to Raise Awareness and Inclusion of Transgender people) is launched!
TRAIT is a project financed by the European Commission within the Erasmus+ program „Cooperation partnerships in vocational education and training“ (KA220-VET – Cooperation partnerships in vocational education and training). TRAIT brings together 7 partners from four EU countries: the Czech Republic (Hertin, Transparent), Spain (Autonomous University of Barcelona, Mirada Local SL), Italy (Paradigma, Rain Arcigay Caserta ODV) and Slovakia (SAPLINQ, O.Z.).
In January, the first meeting took place in the Czech Republic, where the basic goals and procedures of the entire project were discussed.
The TRAIT project aims to achieve the following specific objectives:
- increase the knowledge and skills of professionals on the LGBTQ+ issue;
- to arrive at the description of units of learning outcomes that can be assessed and used in the description and evaluation of professional profiles;
- reduce secondary victimization, prejudice, stereotypes, and discrimination against TI;
- Increase public awareness of LGBTQ+ needs.
TRAIT aims to create an interdisciplinary and multi-actor training course addressed to health and legal professionals who, in various titles, offer assistance to people with TI. In particular, the project includes 3 macro-areas of activity:
- Development of training materials
- Implementation of TRAIT model in the field: ToT, pilot courses and follow up sessions with target professionals
